Mary Jane Northrop
Co-founder Mary Jane brings over 20 years of experience as a
user experience advocate in roles ranging from search engine
marketing department head to usability analyst to technical
communicator to information architect to data analytics
manager.
Mary Jane’s experience encompasses a wide range of
companies from start-ups in the micro-computer boom in the
80’s to the dot com boom of the late 90’s, as well as industry
leaders such as Xerox, Cisco, Godiva, and Hewlett Packard.
Mary Jane also spent seven years teaching technical
communication at the University of Michigan Engineering
School.
She holds an M.S. in Technical Information Design and
Management from the University of Michigan and a B.S. from
Eastern Michigan University in Computer Science.
Philippa von Ziegenweidt
Philippa brings extensive business, analytical and financial
experience to Zebra Quest. After qualifying as a Chartered
Accountant in South Africa in 1989, she pursued a career in
forensic accounting with Arthur Andersen & Co for a number of
years before joining a newly formed operational consulting
division in The Netherlands, her country of birth.
She advised a variety of small to mid-sized clients as far afield
as post-reunification East Germany, where her assignments
involved helping clients manage the transition to a free market
economy. Moving into private industry, Philippa joined
appliance manufacturer Whirlpool, first as an internal auditor
and later as a financial analyst at the global headquarters in
Benton Harbor, Michigan. Her travels ended when she married
a Canadian and settled in Windsor, Ontario. After period of
freelancing as an Excel consultant and delving into website
design and metrics, she co-founded Zebra Quest.
Philippa holds an Honours degree in Commerce from the
University of Cape Town, South Africa and is an accredited
Yahoo Search Marketing Ambassador.
